Helios seeks to fund education programs that advance postsecondary success for Florida students
Helios Education Foundation will start accepting proposals for our Florida Student Postsecondary Success RFP January 15, 2025.
For 20 years, Helios Education Foundation has supported opportunities for all students to succeed in postsecondary education in Florida and Arizona. In Florida, the Foundation has placed a special focus on historically underrepresented students who, according to data, face some of the greatest opportunity gaps in education.
In an ongoing effort to eliminate a student’s zip code and socioeconomic status as predictors of educational success, Helios aims to fund impactful, performance-based education programs in certain Florida regions that demonstrate a successful model in increasing the probability of these students enrolling, persisting and completing college.
We are particularly interested in partnering with nonprofit organizations with demonstrated success working with historically underrepresented communities, particularly those working to advance student enrollment and success in college. We seek to fund programs that also align with one or more of the following strategies:
- Advancing student success in accelerated coursework in high school, such as dual enrollment
- Improving coaching and guidance in college preparatory activities
- Supporting students in the transition from high school to college
- Addressing low college enrollment rates as a result of chronic absenteeism in high school
- Supporting activities designed to help students to persist in and graduate from college
