Helios Education Foundation President and CEO, Paul Luna, was featured on a panel at the America's Promise Alliance 2013 Grad Nation Community Summit on Dec. 6th. In his remarks, Mr. Luna spoke about how philanthropy can help partner with schools for better educational outcomes to help ensure student success.  He also highlighted the importance of providing early care and education as one of the most important investments that can be made in the lives of children.

Held at Pima Community College, the summit was hosted by the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona and focused on improving high school graduation rates in Pima County, Arizona.

The summit’s purpose was to bring leaders in business, philanthropy, government and the school districts together for a conversation on furthering a collective impact approach to solving the drop out crisis.

As part of the America’s Promise Alliance 2013 Community Grad Nation Summit Series, the summit addressed the Five Promises which are fundamental resources children need to thrive and succeed – caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, effective education and opportunities to help others.  Overall, the series will hold 100 summits across the country in the next three years starting with 15 summits this year.
