NCAA Phoenix Local Organizing Committee Announces Board of Directors, Ambassadors

Next Spring, the NCAA and Arizona State University will host the 2017 Final Four at University of Phoenix Stadium. A Phoenix Local Organizing Committee has named its volunteer Board of Directors and four ambassadors to represent the iconic sporting event in Arizona. Paul J. Luna, President and CEO of Helios Education Foundation has been named as one of the 28-member board.
The board is made up of Valley business, sports and tourism leaders with long experience overseeing major sporting events. It will provide leadership and oversight for the PLOC, a non-profit organization that works with the NCAA and host institution Arizona State University to host the 2017 Final Four, set for April 1 and 3, 2017, at University of Phoenix Stadium.
The four ambassadors represent the pillars of the Arizona's first Final Four - Service, Competition, Hospitality and Overall Student-Athlete Experience during the Final Four.
"This outstanding group of leaders exemplifies the widespread community support for the 2017 Final Four," said Dawn Rogers, PLOC executive director and CEO. "Their extensive range of experience and statewide connections have been invaluable. We're grateful to our board members for offering their time and talents to ensuring that Phoenix showcases the standard of excellence this iconic event deserves."
Phoenix Final Four Ambassadors
Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (Service) represents the commitment from the State of Arizona to provide a memorable Final Four experience in Arizona for the student-athletes and fans.
USA Basketball Managing Director Jerry Colangelo (Competition) represents USA Basketball and the elite competition that exemplifies this national championship.
Arizona Cardinals President Michael Bidwill (Hospitality) represents the experience in University of Phoenix Stadium that showcases the standard of excellence representative of the Final Four.
Mayo Clinic Director of Sports Medicine, Department of OrthopedicsDr. Anikar Chhabra (Student-Athlete experience), former basketball student-athlete at Harvard University and Chief Orthopedic Consultant for Arizona State University athletics, represents the overall student-athlete experience during the Final Four, from the team arrivals at Sky Harbor International Airport through the final buzzer at University of Phoenix Stadium.
